Indigosongs2

This Friday on the Real Talk Radio Show musician and producer iNdiGo joins Me and my co-host Ms. B in the studio as we explore the deeper side of music. His New album Indi Pen Rant is available online at cdbaby.com and Amoeba Music Hollywood.

What is iNdiGO Music? Think Jimi singing in Erykah Badu's band who are playing like the Talking Heads.

So what can we expect from the album Indi Pen Rant? Representation and co-existence for those who have no voice. It is not anti-establishment, but pro-individual.

Real Talk, we'll have more with this talented music man this friday from 8-9pm PST on the Real talk Radio Show!

Oprah Falls off Weight Loss Wagon!

ImageResizeHandler.ashx This week, News and Entertainment Sources are reporting that Oprah is opening up about her weight. The 54 year old talk show host has gone public about her latest weight loss struggle, since 2006 she says she has gained 60 pounds. Oprah has always been very candid about her battle to be healthy. In January's issue of "O" magazine she reveals that she has once again "fell off the wagon" weighing in at 200 pounds. But then again who hasn't? She says in the article that she is embarrassed and mad at herself for letting her weight get out of control once again.

Oprah is not the only one, this week on the Real Talk Radio Show we are talking about Diets, losing weight and Black hair and exercise. While we all want to be healthy we also want to look good and when it comes to our hair we often pay a pretty penny to look fly. The problem is what do we do when we want to look good and be healthy? Is this a real issue or an excuse? Tune in to the show this friday as we answer these questions and more!

RTRS Behind The Scenes

So we're heading into our 5th show this Friday December 5th. While I'm having the time of my life I'm also working really hard as well. The show begins and ends with me, and that can be a lot of pressure. But I'm not complaining. Every week we strive to provide each of our listeners with fun and informative information, we also try to book the best guests and give the most entertaining interviews. Speaking of Interviews, if you know of someone who has an interesting story to tell, is super talented, can sing better than Beyonce or rap better than her Lil' Wayne hit us up and let us know, we want to hear from you!!! Email us at letstalk@realtalkradioshow.com

From the first show with comedian RonG to our last show with author ReShonda Tate Billingsley we have learned oh so much and all of our faithful listeners would probably agree. Sometimes in the interviews you just never know what can happen, we don't script or give questions in advance so when things don't go according to plan we just have to roll with it. But we have been every blessed, for the most part with really great interviews. ReShonda an ex-television reporter was definitely one of the best. With Comedians such as RonG you just never know WHAT they are going to say (IF you missed it check it out at our www.realtalkradioshow.com). Sometimes guests are just M.I.A we scheduled an interview that was sure to be off the chain, or so we thought! The Guest we found out later had a personal emergency that prevented them from calling in, to bad they didn't let us know. BUT as they say in show biz the show must go on, especially when your LIVE. I ain't gone lie that threw us all for a loop. Nonetheless we kept it moving and we still love him!

My Favorite show thus far was on Relationships from a Male's Perspective, all of the men who called in, filled out our questionnaires and emailed us really tried to keep it real, and as a young woman I can appreciate that. The only problem was we didn't have enough time!

My absolute favorite part of the show however is reading the emails from listeners. I guess because it proves somebody is listening and that's why we do what we do and plan and plan each week.

Although we were on vacation last week we're back LIVE this Friday from 8-9pm pst and Better than ever!!!

Keyshia Cole Reality Premiere Re-cap

ImageResizeHandler.ashx

Season 3 of Keyshia Cole: "The Way It Is" picks up right where the show left off last season. Frankie, Neffie, Manny, and of course Ms. K.C are all together again for another entertaining season.

Frankie, Keyshia’s biological mom and ex-crack addict was released from prison at the end of season 1. Since then she’s been trying to get her children to forgive her for her past mistakes. Neffie, Keyshia’s older sister, is a recovering/borderline alcoholic and mother of three beautiful little girls, whose husband is sleeping with her cousin. At the end of season 2 she found out she was pregnant again, but not by her "husband" and debating whether or not she wanted to keep the baby. Manny is Keyshia’s manager who works overtime to keep the peace and help support Keyshia as she juggles family and fame.

This season Keyshia and her family are still trying to work out their problems.  Her sister Neffie moved out of Keyshia’s house into her own home that Keyshia bought for her and her 4 children (yep she kept the baby). Frankie, she’s still fighting, Hola!  She has issues with Keyshia’s adopted mom Mrs. Cole for “turning her daughter against her.” But she’s also enjoying being a grandmother to Neffie's children and a mother to her long lost daughter Elite who moved to Atlanta and figures to be a part of the show this season.  As for Keyshia, she’s recording her new album “ A Different Me” and looking forward to moving on and being happy.

I know what you’re thinking how can these dynamics co-exist? That’s the interesting part; they don’t (At least not all the time). Which makes for a lot of Reality TV Drama!!! Fights, Fights, and more Fights. Some might say this is a “hot ghetto mess” and at times it is. But if you look beyond the surface there’s a little of them in all of us. Whether you can relate to them or not there’s something quite endearing about these ladies.

I personally take my hat of to the beautiful and talented Ms. Keyshia Cole. She had to overcome a lot of obstacles to get where she is today. She’s had hit after hit and still she hasn’t forgotten where she’s come from and family is definitely an important part of who she is. Regardless of what you may think of the show, these ladies prove that it doesn’t matter where you start its where you end up that counts. Keyshia and her family have grown up right before our eyes, and its so much fun to watch.

The show airs Tuesdays at 10pm on BET.
