Season 3 of Keyshia Cole: "The Way It Is" picks up right where
the show left off last season. Frankie, Neffie, Manny, and of course Ms. K.C
are all together again for another entertaining season.
Frankie, Keyshia’s biological mom and ex-crack addict was
released from prison at the end of season 1. Since then she’s been trying to
get her children to forgive her for her past mistakes. Neffie, Keyshia’s older
sister, is a recovering/borderline alcoholic and mother of three beautiful
little girls, whose husband is sleeping with her cousin. At the end of season 2
she found out she was pregnant again, but not by her "husband" and debating whether or not she wanted to keep the baby. Manny is
Keyshia’s manager who works overtime to keep the peace and help support Keyshia
as she juggles family and fame.
This season Keyshia and her family are still trying to work
out their problems. Her sister
Neffie moved out of Keyshia’s house into her own home that Keyshia bought for
her and her 4 children (yep she kept the baby). Frankie, she’s still fighting,
Hola! She has issues with
Keyshia’s adopted mom Mrs. Cole for “turning her daughter against her.” But she’s
also enjoying being a grandmother to Neffie's children and a mother to her long lost daughter Elite
who moved to Atlanta and figures to be a part of the show this season.
As for Keyshia, she’s recording her new album “ A Different Me” and looking
forward to moving on and being happy.
I know what you’re thinking how can these dynamics co-exist?
That’s the interesting part; they don’t (At least not all the time). Which
makes for a lot of Reality TV Drama!!! Fights, Fights, and more Fights. Some
might say this is a “hot ghetto mess” and at times it is. But if you look beyond
the surface there’s a little of them in all of us. Whether you can relate to
them or not there’s something quite endearing about these ladies.
I personally take my hat of to the beautiful and talented
Ms. Keyshia Cole. She had to overcome a lot of obstacles to get where she is
today. She’s had hit after hit and still she hasn’t
forgotten where she’s come from and family is definitely an important part of
who she is. Regardless of what you may think of the show, these ladies prove
that it doesn’t matter where you start its where you end up that counts.
Keyshia and her family have grown up right before our eyes, and its so much fun
to watch.
The
show airs Tuesdays at 10pm on BET.
